Reflections on 2015…..

At this time, last year, I quoted John O’Donahue ‘s writing:  “The time is now ripe for beauty to surprise and liberate us.”

It’s a challenging statement….audacious, even. I understand how beauty can surprise us, and delight us. This delight is at the heart of The Art Caravan. Does the liberation come with the recognition of beauty?  O’Donahue says, “….we become aware of new ways of being in the world.”

I hope you had moments of surprise and liberation in the past year.  God knows our world needs new ways of being.

The Colour of Beauty

I’ve been (slowly!) reading John O’Dnonhue’s book Beauty: Rediscovering The True Sources of Compassion, Serenity and Hope.

I love what he says in the chapter entitled  “The Colour of Beauty” ….

We dwell between the earth and the air, guests of that middle kingdom where light and colour embrace.

I’d say we’re pretty fortunate.

….for the new year, 2015

When we awaken to the call of beauty, we become aware of new ways of being in the world.  We were created to be creators.  At its deepest heart, creativity is meant to serve and evoke beauty.
